Digital Literacy Family Services

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the integration of everyday responsibilities like paying bills, managing rent, and completing government forms online has become an integral aspect of our daily routine. When navigating technology, parents oftentimes come to their children for assistance. Their questions can range from seemingly simple tasks such as how to access a file to more complex activities like editing federal documents. However, in our community in Southwest Houston, technological issues are exacerbated by language barriers and an overall lack of knowledge regarding these innovations. This means that the majority of citizens cannot afford to take technology introduction courses. Children of these families are not always available to provide assistance to their parents due to academics or other scheduling conflicts. These issues result in a need for digital literacy education.
We, the project leaders, propose a solution: Digital Literacy Workshops.
